William and Mary Fine and Performing Arts Complex
Williamsburg, Virginia

The College of William and Mary Fine and Performing Arts Complex will integrate the departments of Art and Art History, Music, Theater, Speech, Dance and Film Studies and the Muscarelle Museum. With its prominent Jamestown Road site, the complex will be the centerpiece of the South Campus and serve as a grand entrance to the campus and a visible and enduring statement of College excellence to students, alumni and visitors.

While the new Arts Complex will relate to the historic context of the campus, it will also give a contemporary interpretation to the buildings where appropriate. The architectural strategy shall produce a positive interplay between old and new architecture.

The 299,500 gsf complex includes a 750-seat concert hall, recital hall, 500-seat main theater, studio theater, art museum, academic facilities and a "great hall" that will serve as the gateway to the South Campus.
