Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
Orlando, Florida

The Orlando Performing Arts Center is the centerpiece of a two city block redevelopment of downtown Orlando. Designed as a home for Orlando’s arts organizations as well a bring travelling road shows to Orlando, the Center will accommodate Orlando’s performance venue needs well into the 21st century.

The 360,000 gsf performing arts center includes a banquet room, education spaces, rehearsal rooms and three main theaters. The theaters include a 2700-seat Disney Theater, for Broadway shows and popular arts, a 300-seat Community Theater to support small local arts organizations and the University of Central Florida, and the 1600-seat Multiform Hall, an innovative high performance hall which will be the home to the Orlando Opera, the Orlando Philharmonic and the Orlando Ballet. The hall will have two primary configurations; a shoe-box concert hall and an opera house styled after classic European halls.

The project is scheduled to open fall, 2013. BMA is working with local partners HKS Architects, Inc. and Baker Barrios Architects, Inc.
